A couple things

In case you were wondering why traffic was so bad last night, or why the airport was delaying flights, I'll be happy to inform you that The Kirby has arrived in town.

That's right, THE Kirby is here. He's here for the holiday and is willing to do meet-n-greets or sign anything you might want.  So be sure to grab your favorite chamois and ask for the signature of your favorite celebrity.

Also - a belated Happy Birthday to Tyson! I hope your day was well spent and you had a good time. Here are some pics of TyboTy from the years....

Tyson's been a great teammate and an even better friend. He's always up for a ride and never slows the pace when there's a hill. He and Jean are great fun to hang out with and Ty brings a great comic relief to BCR. I'm glad we met all those years ago at Afton. And I'm glad we were there all the years later when you broke your neck. Also at Afton...

Happy Birthday!

You coming over to watch it with me?!

Head it off now!

While the latest temps aren't totally taking a dive just yet, the days are way shorter and my time on the bikes has diminished significantly. Maybe if I had lights that would help....
Slowly I'm creeping up in weight and I can feel my fitness taking a nap. I'm currently at 190. While it isn't totally unreasonable, there are parts of me that are starting to show more than they used to, (I'm too tired to try to clean that statement up...) my belly. Pants are starting to get snug.

I'm vowing right now to make the effort early on to take care of it. That means:
No more cookie dough while watching tv
No more late night snacks
Try eating breakfast once in awhile
Continue hitting the gym
Focus on crunches
And start on the trainer soon

I figure if I can make an early effort now, it won't be such a difficult endeavor later when it really is cold outside.

In the coming months I'll be hosting trainer sessions in the garage once more, where we gather on a weekend morning, set up trainers and ride. There's plenty of smack talk as we pedal to nowhere and sometimes even DVDs to help pass the time. If things work well, there might even be a large screen and projector set up to help pass the time. Who's bringing popcorn?

An apology - sort of

Dear Cyclist,

I'd like to apologize for my driving on Monday morning, around 7am. I'm the MINI Cooper that didn't see you as you were riding on the sidewalk. I was entering the Eagan Transit Station via the right turn lane. I can't imagine why I didn't see you with all your dark clothing on. I mean, 7am is almost light enough to be wearing blacks and browns near the end of October. Silly me. Surely I must have seen the flashing headlight, or any headlight you were using to light your route.

Oh - wait...you didn't have a light.

Please, the next time you decide to ride your bike at 7am in late October do everyone around you a favor: Wear bright colors, get a light (heck tape a flashlight to your bars), and ride on the road.

Sincerely,
The Grizz
